Job Description

Our client in Brampton is looking to hire an Assistant Plant Manager to join their growing team in Brampton, ON. The Assistant Plant Manager position plays a crucial role in supporting the Plant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the retreading facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. In addition, this role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in managing and coordinating the manufacturing process, from inspection to final finishing Responsible for usage and safeguarding of plant inventory and equipment Support the implementation of production schedules to meet customer demands Assist Plant Manager with staff and equipment resource planning in coordination with production demand Monitor inventory levels of retread materials and finished products Supervise and provide guidance to staff, assist in training and performance management Optimize efficiency through process improvement, controlling costs, and coordinating with other departments for seamless workflow Lead team to achieve production targets, reduce scrap, increase output, maintain equipment, and implement continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure proper functioning and preventative maintenance of retreading equipment as well as building equipment support systems Assist in implementing quality control measures to achieve high quality standards Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards Contribute to the analysis of production data and recommend process improvements Support collaboration with sales, logistics and other departments to ensure we meet customer requirements Backup for the Plant Manager in their absence and assist with managerial responsibilities Work with the production software system, preparing ad-hoc production reports and tracking/reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as required Other tasks as may be assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in business, engineering, or a related working experience Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a manufacturing environment Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics for retreading equipment Proficiency in using production management software and MS Office tools such as excel Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail Familiarity with environmental and sustainability practices in tire retreading Certification in tire retreading or related field Understanding of logistics and supply chain management If you are interested in this Assistant Plant Manager job in Brampton, ON please apply now!
