We are seeking a Material Handler Chemical Warehousing for our client, a recognized global leader, based in Oakville, Ontario . In this role, you will support a chemical warehousing operation that services national industrial and environmental programs. You will be responsible for hands-on warehouse execution, inventory control, and compliance with strict safety and regulatory requirements. This is a one-year contract, on-site five days per week, role available ASAP, with the possibility of extension or future opportunities based on performance and business needs. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, operating equipment, and working within structured, safety-first environments while gaining exposure to ERP systems and supply chain operations. Responsibilities Warehouse & Logistics Execution Receive, unload, and inspect inbound chemical products and equipment to ensure accuracy and condition. Operate counterbalance forklifts and drum-handling equipment in accordance with safety standards. Store chemical products according to compatibility guidelines, FIFO principles, and safety requirements. Pick, stage, and prepare outbound orders for shipment. Prepare and verify TDG-compliant shipping documentation and labeling. Inventory Management & Systems Process goods movements and transactions using SAP and barcode scanning devices. Maintain accurate stock levels, bin locations, and warehouse labeling. Perform regular cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and stock rotation. Support S&OP and supply chain teams through accurate physical execution of inventory plans. Safety & Compliance Follow all PPE requirements and chemical handling procedures. Participate in spill response activities, safety checks, and EHS initiatives. Conduct daily forklift inspections and routine equipment checks. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse work environment. Requirements Education High school diploma required. Additional training or certification in warehousing, logistics, or chemical handling is an asset. Experience: Minimum 35 years of warehouse experience , preferably in chemical or hazmat environments. Hands-on experience operating counterbalance forklifts in an industrial setting. Technical skills: Experience using SAP or an equivalent WMS/ERP system. Ability to work with scanning devices and inventory tracking systems. TDG certification (or willingness to obtain quickly). Soft skills: Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift. Reliable, organized, and able to follow structured processes. Team-oriented with the ability to support logistics and supply chain partners. Additional Details Location: Oakville, ON (on-site, 5 days/week). Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM EST. Hours: 40 hours per week. Transportation: Site is not easily accessible by public transit; candidates must be able to drive or carpool. PPE Requirements: PPE provided where specialized; steel-toe boots required.
