The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and litigating a variety of civil and commercial cases, providing expert legal advice, and representing clients in court proceedings. Under his leadership, Watchmaker Law has built a team of dedicated legal professionals who consistently go above and beyond to provide exceptional representation for their clients.*Duties** Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.* Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.* Develop case strategies through effective negotiation and advocacy to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.* Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.* Analyze case facts, prepare litigation plans, and manage all phases of the litigation process from inception to resolution.* Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and provide sound legal advice tailored to their needs.* Maintain meticulous records of case files, correspondence, and court documents while ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.*Qualifications** Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.* Valid license to practice law in Alberta.* Good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.* Minimum 3 years experience practicing law in a civil litigation practice area.* Proven experience in litigation with a strong understanding of civil procedure and courtroom procedures.* Proficiency in legal research tools.* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.* Strong research capabilities coupled with exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents.* Demonstrated expertise in legal drafting, analysis, and strategic planning.* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
