About the Role As part of our new Multi Residential and City Facilities collection contract in Ottawa launching June 2026, we are seeking a licensed 310T Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of a fleet of approximately 20 collection trucks. This role is critical to ensuring equipment is safe, compliant, and operational to meet contract and service requirements. The Mechanic will work closely with operations and dispatch to minimize downtime and keep the fleet running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a fleet of collection vehicles and related equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete repairs in a timely manner. Ensure all vehicles meet MTO, safety, and company compliance standards. Respond to breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize operational downtime. Complete maintenance records, inspections, and work orders accurately and on time. Work collaboratively with dispatch and operations to coordinate truck availability. Identify potential mechanical issues proactively and recommend corrective actions. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. Support safety initiatives and follow all company policies and procedures. Qualifications Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license required. Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks (waste or vocational vehicles preferred). Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and emissions systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and reporting. Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented.
