Senior Contract Administrator MTO Projects (Ontario) Ontario | Full-Time / Contract | Confidential Searches We are currently supporting multiple infrastructure consulting firms with active and upcoming Ministry of Transportation (MTO) highway projects across Ontario . Due to continued project awards and team build-outs, these firms are seeking experienced Senior Contract Administrators (CA) with direct MTO contract administration experience . These opportunities are best suited to seasoned CAs who are comfortable administering complex MTO construction contracts , managing contractor issues, and acting as a trusted interface between the Ministry, contractors, and project stakeholders. The Role As a Senior Contract Administrator, you may be responsible for: Acting as the Contract Administrator on MTO highway and transportation projects Administering contracts in accordance with MTO General Conditions, OPSS, OPSD, and CAITM requirements Managing contract changes, claims, and dispute resolution processes Reviewing and responding to RFIs, contractor submissions, schedules, and shop drawings Issuing Instruction Notices, Change Orders, and Payment Adjustments Reviewing and certifying contractor progress payments and invoices Leading site meetings with MTO representatives, contractors, and consultants Supporting and mentoring Assistant Contract Administrators and inspection staff What Firms Are Looking For These roles are intended for proven MTO Contract Administrators who can step into senior responsibility with minimal ramp-up. Typical requirements include: 10+ years of experience in Contract Administration on MTO projects Completion of multiple (5+) MTO contracts in a CA or Senior CA capacity Strong working knowledge of MTO CA processes and documentation Demonstrated ability to manage contractor issues, claims, and site challenges Strong communication, judgement, and problem-solving skills Required Credentials (Firm Dependent): RCCA (OACETT) or P.Eng. (Ontario) Successful completion of MTO T131 and T131a (Dispute Resolution) Solid familiarity with CAITM, OPSS, OPSD, and Book 7 Note: While municipal CA experience may be considered for some roles, direct MTO CA experience is essential for senior-level placements.
