Were excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Research & Development Engineer This role offers the opportunity to drive the design and development of next-generation elevator and vertical transportation systems, with a strong focus on innovation, safety, and code compliance. You will play a key role in advancing product performance while ensuring designs meet stringent regulatory and industry standards. Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Research, design, and develop elevator and vertical transportation systems and components Apply and interpret elevator codes and standards (CSA, ASME A17.1/CSA B44, local regulations) throughout the design process Create and review detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and technical documentation Lead and support prototyping, testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and field operations Support regulatory approvals, audits, and technical reviews related to code compliance Analyze field data and customer feedback to drive product enhancements and innovation Mandatory Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of R&D or product design experience within elevator or vertical transportation systems Strong working knowledge of elevator codes and safety standards (ASME A17.1 / CSA B44) Proven experience in mechanical design, analysis, and validation Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into compliant designs Preferred Requirements: Experience with CAD and engineering analysis tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar) Exposure to testing methodologies, failure analysis, and design verification Experience working in regulated, safety-critical industries Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility Location: Mississauga, Ontario Salary Range: $90,000 $125,000 If you are interested in learning more about the Research & Development Engineer job opportunity, please submit your updated resume to We are recruitment industry leaders committed to quality service, integrity, respect and equal opportunity.
