This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your outstanding leadership skills and keen knowledge of ground-up construction to oversee and manage all on-site construction activities while ensuring client projects are executed safely, successfully and in alignment with quality, schedule and financial goals. A project list must be included on your resume.Your responsibilities will include:Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency of labourers and subcontractors in relation to the sub-contract scope and overall budgetInterpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specificationsManage internal labour team and subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to the project construction schedule, scopes of work related to the sub-contract and budgetLiaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders including but limited to weekly foremans/site meetings, JHSC meetingsCreate a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practicesExercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required to mitigate potential risks and hazardsOversee project close out activities, including quick resolution of deficiencies and site cleanupPlanning and implementing construction means/methods, schedules, productivity, innovations, site logistics and coordinating with all related stakeholdersOversee project close-out activities such as final inspections, deficiencies, warranty work and site demobilizationWHAT YOU BRING10+ years of construction management experience.Construction certifications i.e.. P.Eng., GSC NCSO, etc. are strong assets.Experience managing base build, core & shell, and repositioning projects.Strong scheduling skills: monthly progress schedules, micro plans, and two-week lookaheads.Proven leadership to ensure accountability and high-quality work.Solid understanding of layout principles, geodetic datums, and related instruments.Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain respect with all stakeholders.Knowledge of health, safety, and construction legislation.Exceptional time management and resource allocation skills.Proactive in identifying and mitigating risks.Skilled in negotiation and dispute resolution.High integrity, honesty, and ethics.Proficient in MS Project, and Outlook.Valid Class G drivers license and reliable vehicle for project travel.YOUR ESTIMATED SALARYThis role offers an annual salary between $110,000 and $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications, with final compensation thoughtfully tailored in the offer stage.YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTRole based on active construction sites.Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons.In person; Not a hybrid or remote position.Main office location is 108 Vine Avenue, Toronto.Govan Brown is an equal opportunity employer, and we would like to thank all applicants for their interest.
