Company summary This is a specialty paper manufacturing organization operating a continuous-process production environment with a strong focus on safety and operational reliability. The site supports critical infrastructure including mill-wide power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation. The organization invests in sustaining capital and outage work to improve uptime, safety, and performance. Position summary The Electrical Engineer is an on-site role responsible for electrical system design, documentation ownership, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement across mill operations. This position supports power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation, and is expected to be highly field-engaged with operations and maintenance teams. The role also leads and coordinates key capital and maintenance projects, including outage and shutdown execution with contractors. Essential responsibilities Create, update, validate, and maintain electrical designs and drawings across the site: Power distribution one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts Control and instrumentation-related drawings as applicable Drawing control process including redlines, revisions, and as-built documentation Maintain and update the site-wide power distribution system model to reflect current field conditions Support operations and maintenance with troubleshooting of electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues impacting production Perform equipment failure analysis and root cause investigations; recommend and implement corrective actions Review proposed equipment replacements and system upgrades, including capital projects: Evaluate technical fit, safety implications, maintainability, and lifecycle considerations Support vendor selection and technical review of quotes and proposals Develop engineering scopes and cost estimates for electrical projects and improvements Plan, coordinate, and manage key projects tied to shutdowns/outages: Coordinate schedules with maintenance planning, reliability, and operations Define contractor scopes, support jobsite readiness, and drive safe execution Schedule and coordinate contractors for capital work and major maintenance activities Collaborate with engineering peers, maintenance, and reliability to drive continuous improvement Perform other duties as assigned Target background Electrical engineering experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably continuous process Strong knowledge of plant power distribution systems and equipment (switchgear, MCCs, breakers, motors, drives) Proven ability to own and maintain electrical documentation and drawings (one-lines, schematics, wiring) Hands-on troubleshooting capability with a reliability mindset (failure analysis, RCA) Working exposure to control systems and instrumentation environments (PLC/SCADA/DCS familiarity is a plus) Experience with capital projects, cost estimating, and contractor coordination Able to work effectively on-site and support outage/shutdown execution as needed Strong communication skills with operations, maintenance, and leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr
