Software Developer Intern We are hiring a Software Developer Intern to join our development team in Toronto.You will work alongside experienced developers and business stakeholders to help design, build, test, and improve custom in-house software that directly supports our lines of business. This role is ideal for a motivated student or recent graduate who wants hands-on experience in a fast-paced, agile environment and is excited to see their work move from concept to production. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and testing software features under the guidance of senior developers. Learn and apply development practices including code reviews, version control, and documentation. Participate in team meetings, daily stand-ups, and sprint planning sessions. Help maintain and improve existing codebase, including working with legacy systems. Write clean, readable code following team coding standards. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and debug issues. Document your work and learnings to support knowledge sharing. Ask questions, seek feedback, and actively engage in your own learning journey. What We''re Looking For Currently enrolled in a Bachelor''s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (2nd or 3rd year preferred). Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts. Some exposure to or coursework in: C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or similar technologies. Interest in learning Angular and front-end development. Basic understanding of databases and SQL queries. Familiarity with version control concepts (Git/GitHub experience is a plus). Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking ability. Eagerness to learn new technologies and work with legacy systems. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. Self-motivated with good time management skills. A positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges. What You''ll Learn & Be Exposed To Backend Development: .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework, RESTful APIs Frontend Development: Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, Bootstrap Databases: SQL Server (T-SQL), MongoDB Cloud & DevOps: Azure Cloud services, Docker, Kubernetes basics Development Practices: Agile/Scrum methodology, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines Legacy Modernization: Experience working with existing codebases and understanding migration patterns to microservices Our Stack We build our software on the Microsoft stack. Our web-based platforms utilize modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular (primarily) over a Microsoft .NET Core MVC application base. We implement RESTful WebAPIs to interact with our relational database systems (SQL Server) using Entity Framework. Other technologies you may encounter include MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Docker, GraphQL, and Azure Cloud services. We use VS 2022, VS Code, or Rider for development.
