We are currently seeking a full-time sharp Project Analyst todrive financial success across our large-scale civil and underground telecom projects. The Project Analyst Construction supports large-scale civil and underground infrastructure projects by providing cost control, budget management, forecasting, and performance analytics. This role partners closely with Construction, Engineering, PMO, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure projects are financially controlled, accurately reported, and aligned with contractual and operational targets. The Project Analyst plays a key role in fixed-price and unit-rate projects, supporting earned value tracking, change management, subcontractor cost analysis, and margin performance. Key Responsibilities Project Financial Management Develop and maintain project budgets based on approved rate cards, engineering quantities, and subcontractor pricing Track actual costs vs budget, identifying variances and forecasting final project outcomes Support revenue recognition for fixed-price and unit-rate contracts in alignment with accounting policies Monitor gross margin performance and flag risks impacting profitability Cost Control & Analysis Analyze subcontractor costs, EWOs, change orders, and non-billable exposure Validate unit costs, production rates, and productivity trends across drilling, pathways, aerial, and underground scopes Support COGS analysis, accruals, and cost true ups in partnership with Finance Identify cost recovery opportunities and margin improvement initiatives Forecasting & Reporting Prepare monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and completion estimates Produce executive-level dashboards and reports summarizing cost, revenue, and schedule performance Support internal and external audits by providing clear financial narratives and reconciliations Assist with client billing validation and service-order reconciliation Operational & PMO Support Partner with Project Managers and Construction leads to align field progress with financial reporting Support risk and opportunity tracking related to design changes, constructability, and client delivery models Assist with contract reviews related to rate cards, unit pricing, and scope assumptions Contribute to process improvements for budgeting, forecasting, and cost governance Required Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, or related field 37 years'' experiencein civil construction, utilities, telecom, or infrastructure projects Strong understanding of fixed-price and unit-rate contract models Advanced Excel skills (cost models, pivots, variance analysis) Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Great Plains, Solomon, Vista, or similar) Preferred Experience Experience in telecom / fiber / underground civil construction Familiarity with engineering quantities, IFC designs, and production metrics Exposure to EWOs, change orders, and subcontractor billing Knowledge of revenue recognition and project accounting Power BI or dashboarding experience is an asset Why AFL?
