Job Objective: The main responsibility of this position is to alter and repair garments according to Company''s and Department''s standards and policies. Seamstress will be responsible for execution of all warranty repairs, alterations, and special orders. The secondary responsibility is to assist QC Lead Inspector with on-going production inspections and maintain related documentation according to the Company''s and Department''s standards and policies. This position will report to the Quality Control Manger. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily. The incumbent must possess sewing ability, garment construction and fabrication knowledge, a good working knowledge of industrial sewing equipment and the ability to perform its routine maintenance. Clear communication ability is essential as well as being able to multi-task on an ongoing basis, and will perform well under pressure while meeting deadlines, the ability to perform routine maintenance of sewing equipment. A positive attitude, upbeat personality and flexibility are necessary for this position. This individual will have prior experience and skills in a related industry. Key Responsibilities: Alter and repair garments according to department standards and policies Operate all machinery in a safe and efficient manner Keep accurate records of all trims and materials needed and used to alter and repair garments Submit requests for sewing supplies Coordinate all repair requests with Returns Department Report on all items that do not attain quality standards to the Quality Control Manager and QC Lead Inspector Complete all repairs in a timely manner Maintain records and filing system in order Coordinate with QC Lead Inspector and Receiving team delivery of all requested for inspection garments and return of products after inspection process is completed Measure all selected size inspection items according to style sizing specifications and record all findings. Identify all out of tolerance measurements Perform inspection of garment''s workmanship and record all noticeable defects on the inspection sheet Communicate to the QC Lead Inspector and Quality Control Manager all workmanship and size discrepancies that do not attain full standards Perform repairs/cleaning of affected bulk garments prior to returning them back to stock Perform repacking of all inspected garments Assist with additional bulk inspections and washing process on bulk shipments when required Perform other related tasks as assigned within the department Requirements: High School Diploma Certificate course in Fashion Design/Garment Construction is an asset. 5+ years of experience in a related industry and in operating industrial sewing machines. Garments alteration/sewing skills Solid knowledge about garment construction, trims, fabric, and material specifics etc. Good English communication skills Exceptional attention to details Positive attitude and upbeat personality, flexibility. Works well in a team environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be organized with can do attitude. Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
