TFS Advancement - Intern Position: TFS Advancement - Intern Position Type: Full time Internship (4 -6 months), Monday to Friday, 35 hours Language of work: English Location: 306 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 1T7 Hourly Rate: $ 23.66 Start date: April/May 2026 About the position Reporting to the Bilingual Digital Manager, the intern will play a hands-on role in supporting TFS signature events, marketing, and promotional initiatives, with a strong focus on visual storytelling, content creation, and audience engagement. In addition, the intern will play a key role in supporting the production of the annual TFS Yearbook, working collaboratively with students, school staff, and the Marketing and Communications team to ensure the yearbook is completed before the end of their internship term. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience in event marketing, communications, design, and photography within a school advancement and alumni engagement environment. Working closely with Advancement staff, school administrators, volunteers, and the TFS Alumni Association, the intern will help bring events and campaigns to life - from concept and promotion through execution and post-event storytelling. Duties and Responsibilities Event Marketing & Promotion Support the planning, promotion, execution, and follow-up of TFS signature events including, Alumni and Foundation events. Develop event marketing materials, including digital invitations, signage, programs, and post-event communications. Assist with on-site event support, including setup, coordination, and real-time content capture. Design, Photography & Content Creation Capture photography and short-form video at events for use across digital channels. Create engaging visual assets for events and campaigns using tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Assist in organizing, editing, and archiving visual assets for future use. Contribute to storytelling through post-event recaps, photo selections, and highlight content. Marketing & Communications Support Support the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies targeting alumni, donors, and the broader community. Assist with social media content creation and scheduling. Collaborate with team members to ensure brand consistency across all materials. Administrative & Data Support Maintain accurate records in Raiser''s Edge, including event participation and engagement details. Support donor list segmentation to inform targeted event promotion and outreach. Assist with data quality initiatives and documentation of marketing and event processes. Provide administrative support to Foundation leadership as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Yearbook Production & Coordination Support the coordination and production of the annual TFS Yearbook, encompassing students from JDE through Grade 12 across all four school branches. Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Specialist to support timelines, content collection, and production milestones, ensuring the yearbook is completed prior to the end of the internship term. Collaborate with students, branch coordinators, and Advancement staff to assist with the collection and organization of photography, class lists, highlights, and captions. Support basic layout preparation, image selection, and proofreading in collaboration with internal teams and/or external vendors, as required. Assist with organizing and archiving yearbook assets for future reference. Who we are looking for We recruit candidates who embrace our TFS values of integrity, discernment, respect, and engagement. The ideal candidate profile is as follows: Education: Enrolled in or graduate of a post-secondary program, ideally in communications, fundraising or management. Experience: Previous experience working in an office setting. Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively and communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, sponsors, students, and staff. Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with experience creating communication and promotional materials for events and campaigns. Project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative working style, with the ability to exercise tact, discretion, and good judgment. Experience with donor databases such as Raiser''s Edge or prospect research tools is an asset. Budget management skills and awareness of cost considerations in event and campaign planning. Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Canva, and other design platforms. Photography and/or basic videography skills, with the ability to capture and edit event content, is an asset. Language skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English. French is an asset. Performance Skills: Must be able to work independently, exercise initiative with strong prioritizing and organizational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to manage multi-phase projects from inception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
