Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our retail store. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves supervising staff, managing sales activities, and ensuring exceptional customer service to foster a positive shopping experience. The Assistant Manager will play a key part in executing merchandising strategies, overseeing administrative functions, and contributing to the store''s overall success. Duties Assist in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service Manage payroll, scheduling, and training & development initiatives for staff Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory purchasing to optimize sales performance Handle cash handling, cashiering duties, and POS transactions accurately Conduct recruiting efforts, interview candidates, and participate in hiring processes Implement marketing initiatives to increase store visibility and customer engagement Monitor sales performance and prepare reports on store metrics using organizational skills and bookkeeping knowledge Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures Maintain effective communication with staff and upper management to facilitate smooth operations Experience Proven supervisory experience in retail management or a similar environment Strong background in sales management, team management, and customer service excellence Familiarity with merchandising, pricing strategies, POS systems, and purchasing processes Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and payroll administration Demonstrated leadership capabilities with excellent organizational skills and time management Multilingual abilities or bilingual proficiency are considered a plus for effective communication with diverse customers and staff Skills in negotiation, marketing, bookkeeping, budgeting, math proficiency, phone etiquette, and administrative tasks are highly desirable Prior experience with retail sales environments requiring supervision of cashiering operations and cash handling This role offers an opportunity to grow within a vibrant retail environment while contributing to the success of our team.
