Overview PHOENIX FENCE CORP. seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping / Yard Manager to oversee all aspects of shipping, receiving, and yard operations within our supply chain and logistics functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse and transportation management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes. This role is vital in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing inventory control across the facility. Responsibilities Manage daily shipping and receiving activities, including order fulfillment, freight coordination, and dispatching. Supervise warehouse staff, including warehouse supervisors and forklift operators, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards. Oversee yard operations, including vehicle movement, yard fleet management, and materials handling. Implement process improvements utilizing lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Oversee and coordinate transportation planning using and ERP systems to optimize freight routes and schedules. Monitor inventory levels and inventory control procedures; ensure accurate tracking of materials. Collaborate with procurement teams for purchasing activities related to warehouse supplies and freight services. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and other partners to streamline logistics operations. Develop and manage budgets related to shipping, yard operations, and supply chain activities. Analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across all operations. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse supervision, logistics management, or operations management within a distribution or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain management, inventory management, ERP systems. Familiarity with freight forwarding, shipping & receiving procedures, procurement, dispatching, order fulfillment, yard fleet management, materials management, and warehouse distribution. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in managing budgets, demand planning, production planning, and supply chain analytics. Supervising experience with a track record of leading teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment; relevant certifications preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners such as 3PL providers or carriers.
