The Position: This is a temporary full-time position from April 20, 2026 to August 7, 2026, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, based out of our Support Office. The Event Assistant will be integral to a successful major annual event at AdaptAbilities. The Event Assistant will have a thorough understanding of AdaptAbilities programs, vision and brand. This position is responsible for taking on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of the event. As a conscientious Event Assistant, you will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with special needs and their families to grow, succeed, and belong. Collaborate with the Fund Development team on planning, execution, and follow up of a major annual event Provide administrative and project support for a major annual event Communicate effectively by email and phone to volunteers, team members, table hosts, and vendors Performing general duties including data entry, filing, and photocopying Respond to telephone, in-person, and email inquiries Event registration, operations, set up and clean up Perform other job-related activities as required Qualifications Certificate, Diploma or completion of two years (toward a Bachelor''s Degree) in Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Business Development, Sales or related field 1+ years'' experience working in fund development or communications (preferred) Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment Great phone, computer, public relations, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Experience utilizing office applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Previous work in a non-profit organization is an asset Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check Eligibility Criteria This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant (CSJG), which requires that the employee must be legally entitled to work in Canada and between the ages of International students are not eligible.
