Job Title: Senior Living Assistant Job Location: Bergen Gardens (1475 Molson) Reporting Manager: Senior Living Director Job Summary: Reporting to the Community Operations Director, the Senior Living Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that Senior Living Director is supported in all areas. Duties will include booking appointments, conducting tours for potential move-ins, creating posters, and offering support clerically both to the Senior Living Director as well as the Life Enrichment Team while maintaining a close relationship with tenants and families. I work closely with the Senior Living Director to develop and give the department a strategic direction to achieve the maximum potential and full capacity. I coordinate with the Senior Living Director in the development and insuring that accurate records for elders, personnel, financial and general operations are maintained in order to provide regular reports on information as required by the Executive Director and/or legislation. I ensure that all records and personal information for elders and staff are protected in the office as well as when using the computer to ensure their privacy is not violated. I participate on and/or chair committees as required. I participate in educational conferences, committees, and meetings as requested. I represent Bergen Gardens by answering all calls courteously and treating all Tenants, visitors and fellow staff with dignity and respect. Supporting the Senior Living Director with clerical/office duty support Supporting the Senior Living Director in providing information to potential clients including tours and brochures. Supporting the Life Enrichment team with booking entertainment and requesting cheques, inputting tenant attendance into Welbi platform, Supporting Tenants and family by booking our transportation bus for appointments and then reminding tenants about booking day of. Create and design posters and tenant Newsletter in Canva ensuring compliance with Bergen Gardens branding. Attending by-weekly neighbourhood meetings updating the neighbourhood minutes, print and place in each neighbourhood including cottages. Support the Life Enrichment team with large events by making posters, ordering supplies, and any day of event duties Manage information on our community digital boards Support Tenants with day-to-day needs that come up and provide resources as required Support Volunteers Other duties as assigned. What You Need to Be Successful: I have a high school diploma and have at least three years of experience in a hospitality or tenant services setting with leadership abilities/initiative to effectively oversee programs and services. I have an excellent working knowledge of computers and working with technology. I communicate with well-developed written and verbal communication skills. I can fluently read, write, and speak English. My ability to speak a second language is considered an asset. I demonstrate empathy, concern, and interest in providing quality care and service to our tenants. I interrelate well with others and establish positive relationships with Tenants, their families, other staff members, volunteers, and the public. I can adapt quickly in a progressive change-oriented environment. I work independently and can evaluate my own progress and take responsibility to grow in my position. I am interested in learning more about person-directed care and how it applies to work within our community of seniors.
