Working one-on-one with foundational and post-secondary learners, including those with experience of disability and those who have English as an additional language, Learning Support Specialistspport the academic progress of learners by compassionately meeting them where they are at and collaborating with Instructional Faculty and the broader Student Services team to ensure wrap-around academic support. The Learning Support Specialist (Math and Science) position provides in-person and online learning support to students in a variety of NorQuest courses and programs, inclusive of high-school Math and Science, post-secondary courses in health sciences, business, and technology, and university level courses such as Calculus, Statistics and Linear Algebra. You will have the opportunity to learn new curriculum, experiment with varied approaches to supporting learners, as well as the opportunity to innovate, as we transform our services to meet the college''s strategic goals and work towards our commitment to Indigenization, decolonization and becoming an anti-racist organization. This is an in-person casual position to April 30, 2026. Shifts occur predominantly between 8:45 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Possibility of extension, as casual contracts are renewed annually pending budget. HOW YOU''LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Assess learning needs and provide content tutoring and academic skill development coaching to learners. Co-create and individualize learning strategies using a strengths-based approach. Provide a safe, inclusive, and holistic learning experience for all students. Contribute to the evolution and innovation of educational best practices that support academic resilience and a positive learner experience. Engage in internal processional development opportunities, including peer learning and case conferencing. Work with Learner Centre staff (Library, Service Desk and Accessibility Services) to co-manage the Learner Centre space and make appropriate referrals to other service areas Capture accurate usage metrics for the purposes of decision-making and reporting. WHAT YOU BRING Academic specialization is required in Math and Sciences (with ability to apply foundational knowledge to post-secondary courses; e.g. basic Business and Health, and University Transfer courses). Applied knowledge of learning theory; expertise and experience with Universal Design or differentiated learning is required. 2+ years'' directly related experience working with diverse learners in an educational setting, especially those who have English as an additional language and those with experience of disability. A degree in Education (Bachelor''s or Graduate level) and a Master''s Degree (or working towards completion of a Master''s degree) are required. Equivalent education and related experience may also be considered. WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER? SALARY: AUPE Band Level 8 | Specialist III | $ $42.46/hour reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience, plus 11.2% in lieu of vacation.
