Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kitchener, ON, for a Health & Safety Manager. The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing organizational health and safety programs, training employees, conducting regular site safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Additional responsibilities include investigating and analyzing workplace accidents, maintaining detailed safety records, and providing guidance on industrial safety measures to promote a safe working environment. Typical Work Environment Active construction or industrial project sites Office-based reporting and planning Travel between multiple Ontario locations Occasional after-hours or emergency response Requirements Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 510 years experience in construction or industrial contracting safety roles. Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and construction regulations. Experience conducting site audits and investigations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Valid Ontario driver''s license and ability to travel to job sites. Duties Site Safety Oversight Conduct regular site inspections and audits. Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety compliance. Stop unsafe work and recommend corrective actions. Verify use of PPE, fall protection systems, lockout/tagout, confined space controls, etc. Participate in toolbox talks and pre-job safety meetings. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with: Ontario OHSA Construction Projects Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91) WHMIS MOL/MLITSD requirements WSIB policies and reporting Interpret legislation and provide guidance to management and supervisors. Prepare for and manage Ministry of Labour inspections and audits. Respond to orders, incidents, and regulatory inquiries. Program Development & Implementation Develop and maintain company Health & Safety programs, manuals, policies, and procedures. Lead implementation of site-specific safety plans. Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Procedures, and risk assessments. Track and analyze safety metrics and trends. Incident Management Lead or support accident and near-miss investigations. Prepare reports and root cause analyses. Coordinate with WSIB for claims management. Implement corrective actions and follow-up. Training & Competency Coordinate and deliver safety training such as: Working at Heights Supervisor Awareness WHMIS Joint Health & Safety Committee certification Confined Space Maintain training records and certifications. Support orientation for new hires and subcontractors. Leadership & Communication Act as safety advisor to project teams and leadership. Promote safety culture and worker engagement. Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings. Liaise with clients and inspectors regarding safety requirements. Preferred Certifications CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) CHSC JHSC Certification Working at Heights Instructor First Aid/CPR
