What You Will Do: Financial Reporting and Close Support Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including management, Board, and external reporting. Prepare and review financial analyses, schedules, and working papers to support statutory filings, audits, and regulatory requirements. Partner closely with the Controller to improve close efficiency, accuracy, and documentation. Support ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests from senior leadership. Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting Lead elements of the annual budgeting process, multi-year forecasts, and rolling reforecasts. Develop and maintain financial models to support operational planning, capital planning, and scenario analysis. Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and forecast, and provide clear explanations and insights. Support long-range financial planning aligned with organizational strategy and growth initiatives. Decision Support and Business Partnering Act as a finance business partner to program and operational leaders, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making. Develop forward-looking analyses, sensitivity scenarios, and business cases for new initiatives, programs, and investments. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders. Strategic Analysis and Special Projects Support strategic initiatives including business plans, growth initiatives, capital investments, and operational improvements. Conduct financial analysis related to new programs, service expansions, and organizational changes. Assist the CFO and Controller with strategic finance projects and Board-level materials. Risk Management and Controls Help strengthen financial controls, documentation, and reporting processes to reduce operational and key-person risk. Provide backup and cross-coverage for core Financial Analyst responsibilities Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting tools to enhance finance efficiency and resilience. Team Development and Succession Capacity Build depth and bench strength within Finance, supporting long-term succession planning for Controller and CFO roles. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and financial discipline. What We Are Looking For: Bachelor''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field. CPA designation required or strongly preferred (or actively working toward completion). Strong foundation in financial accounting, financial analysis, and management reporting. 5-7 years of progressive finance experience , with increasing responsibility in financial analysis, reporting, and planning. Experience in a complex, multi-entity or multi-location organization (e.g., retail, non-profit, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, or service-based environment). Demonstrated exposure to both FP&A and controllership-related functions , including: Monthly and quarterly close support Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Management and Board-level reporting Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including scenario and sensitivity analysis. Strong understanding of financial statements, internal controls, and audit support. High proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with ERP systems and Power BI is a strong asset. Ability to translate detailed financial data into clear, decision-ready insights. Proven ability to partner with non-finance leaders and explain financial concepts clearly and pragmatically. Experience supporting operational and program leaders with financial insights and recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive and Board materials. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and exercise sound professional judgment. Experience mentoring or supporting junior finance staff is an asset. Clear capacity and interest to grow into broader leadership roles over time, including Controller or CFO-level responsibilities. Comfortable operating in an environment undergoing growth, change, or increasing complexity. High attention to detail combined with strong big-picture thinking. Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong ethical standards and commitment to financial integrity and accountability. Optional Experience in not-for-profit or mission-driven organizations. Experience supporting capital projects, business cases, or multi-year strategic plans.
