Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead underground infrastructure projects, including watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installations . This leadership role is responsible for day-to-day field operations , crew supervision, safety compliance, and effective coordination with project stakeholders. Location : Grey and Simcoe Counties, Ontario Responsibilities Supervise and lead field crews in the installation of watermains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Plan and schedule site activities to meet project timelines and budget goals. Read and interpret construction drawings and ensure accurate installation. Oversee excavation, trenching, and shoring operations, including heavy equipment usage. Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies. Troubleshoot on-site challenges and maintain productivity and quality standards. Communicate effectively with Project Managers, inspectors, and municipal representatives. Maintain accurate records of daily reports, material tracking, and crew productivity. Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and efficiency on-site. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Strong experience in watermain, sanitary, and storm sewer installation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. In-depth knowledge of Ontario construction regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act). Experience with heavy equipment operation (e.g., excavators, loaders). Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid Driver''''s Licence (DZ or AZ preferred). Certifications in First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Heights are a plus.
