Job title: Part-Time Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Location: Nicholsons Point Road (Millhaven/Amherstview area) Salary: Starting $20-$23/hr based on experience Job Description: As a Personal Care Attendant, you will be supporting a 36y/o woman with multiple disabilities and medical diagnoses to thrive in her home and in the community. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and a critical thinker with an interest in learning new skills and embracing new experiences. If you require any accessibility accommodations during the application process please email Key Responsibilities: This position will require a broad range of workplace duties and activities including but not limited to: - Assisting with Activities of Daily Living including dressing, personal hygiene and grooming, laundry, meal preparation, light house keeping, bathing, and positioning etc. - Perform skin checks for pressure injury and skin integrity - Carry out a daily Passive Range of Motion and Stretching routine as trained by a qualified Physiotherapist - Assist with a variety of transfers into and out of bed, chairs, wheelchairs, vehicles and other surfaces as needed - Self-directed and assisted care tasks using a self-directed care model including but not limited to; managing suprapubic catheter care, ileostomy management, GJ tube site care/maintenance, PICC/central line care, and medication preparation. - Assist with service animal care - Follow care plans and complete routine documentation as required - Provide accompaniment in the community for errands, therapies, special events, and medical appointments - Drive a wheelchair accessible minivan and use a built-in wheelchair tie-down system - Assist with admissions and discharges from hospital and occasional essential medical travel in the Greater Toronto Area Qualifications and Requirements: -Eligibility to work in Canada during the time of your employment -First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) -Ability to lift and assist with transfers (Training will be provided) -Personal transportation to and from work is required as the location is not transit accessible (Free parking provided and $3 travel incentive per shift) -G2/G drivers license is a significant asset -American Sign Language knowledge is an asset but not required Additional Information: -Disabled and d/Deaf individuals are encouraged to apply -No prior education or experience is required -All applications will be considered equally -Applicants must follow the directions for submitting resumes and cover letters.
