Operations Quality and Skills Development, The Training Specialist is responsible for the delivery, facilitation, and evaluation of training programs for Communications Centre staff. This role focuses primarily on hybrid training, performance assessment, and identifying training needs to support operational readiness and service excellence. WHAT YOU WILL DO Facilitates both in-person and virtual training sessions, including train-the-trainer and learner programs, ensuring participants can apply concepts in realistic emergency service scenarios. Assess learner performance through examinations, technical assessments, and practical evaluations to support quality and operational standards. Evaluate training effectiveness and learner readiness to ensure skills and knowledge are successfully transferred to the workplace. Prepare and deliver training materials and provide orientation to Communications Centre staff and partner agencies. Act as a subject-matter resource for Communications Centre procedures, systems, and equipment during training delivery. Analyze observed staff performance to identify refresher training needs and readiness for advanced or additional training. Provide coaching, feedback, and recommendations to support skill development and operational performance. Stay current with best practices, technologies, and trends in adult education and emergency communications training. Works closely with the Policy, Systems & Implementation Team to make recommendations for policy and procedure changes to enhance service productivity, and may assist in the development of work methods, standards, and procedures for the Communications Centre. Supports the Operations Managers in providing continual training to staff as requested and seeks feedback to ensure training aligns with organizational needs and standards. Collaborates with the Instructional Designer to support curriculum updates and learning materials. Maintain accurate training records in accordance with Training Governance. Attends court to provide evidence, when required. Performs other related duties as required. WHAT YOULL BRING Minimum 3 years experience in Emergency or Non-Emergency Call Taker/Dispatcher roles (Fire/Police), with expertise in dispatch operations and emergency response coordination. Proven experience in facilitating and delivering training programs to adult learners, both individually and in groups. Experience with curriculums that include hands-on training, multimedia, and web/computer-based training. Certificate or diploma in Adult Education or related field is a strong asset. Required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. Vaccination Policy E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended.
