As a leader, the Registered Nurse ensures that comprehensive, person-centred, holistic assessments result in a timely individualized plan of care that is implemented and evaluated to optimize personal well-being. The Registered Nurse champions the strengths and abilities of those they lead to make a difference in the lives of the residents, clients and families we serve. Monitor and establish standards of care and practice to provide an environment that facilitates quality resident care delivery Complete various daily audits Collaborate with the resident care team to develop and maintain up-to-date resident Care Plans to meet therapeutic, restorative and rehabilitative goals of each resident utilizing MDS-RAI Actively participate in team conferences Provide nursing care in accordance with administrative policies, physician orders, established standards and recognized nursing principles Delegate and provide supervision and direction to LPNs and HCAs using the Collaborative Care Model of Decision Making Notify residents families and/or next of kin of any changes in the residents health status Identify documents and follow-up any resident/family incidents or complaints; Participate in Employee Performance Appraisal process Protect individual rights, advocate for residents, and promote a culture of resident safety Administer, supervise, and evaluate efficiency of medication delivery Establish and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, physicians, other departments through on-going communications and providing teaching where required (i.e. health teaching) Participate on committees as required and assuming responsibility for the day-to-day management of the unit Why Join Us: At The Brenda Strafford Foundation, we are more than a workplacewe are a united team. Who We''re Looking For: -Hold a CARNA license -Current BLS provider CPR -Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing is required.
