If you are eager to develop new skills while contributing to a dynamic team, we''d love to have you on board as a Facilities Summer Student HOW YOU WILL THRIVE: As a Facilities Summer Student, you will work outdoors, gaining hands-on experience with lawn maintenance, landscaping, and general facilities operations. Your contributions will help maintain and enhance our picturesque campus, and you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside skilled trades in a supportive learning environment. HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED: Assist with horticultural and bed maintenance by managing weed removal, dead-heading, and general landscaping tasks Assist with special events and general work orders, ensuring smooth setup and logistics Operate lawn mowers, edgers, and hand tools, associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities Perform some minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools Install and remove signs, parking and traffic control barriers, and overhead banners Operate a range of vehicles and maintenance equipment such as tractors, riding mowers, utility vehicles, pickup trucks, string trimmers, blowers and a variety of hand tools Participate with demo work including hauling building debris Work with skilled trades staff gaining valuable hands-on experience Follow all safety guidelines of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and promote a safe and healthy work environment including complying with all training provided.
