Role description The Senior UX Designer leads design initiatives for scientific and technical applications, translating complex workflows into intuitive user experiences. This role works closely with product owners, managers, and software engineers to shape the look and feel of interfaces using Qt or JavaScript. While implementation is handled by software engineers, the ability to prototype or code is a strong plus. The Senior UX Designer also mentors junior designers and drives experimentation and innovation through A/B testing, rapid prototyping, or gamification strategies. Duties and Responsibilities Lead UX projects from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with business and user goals Facilitate design workshops and prototype reviews with PMs and POs Design high-fidelity prototypes and user flows that clarify scientific concepts Use PowerPoint and other tools to demo design concepts before development Collaborate with developers to ensure feasibility and alignment with Qt or JavaScript frameworks Conduct advanced usability testing and A/B experiments to validate design decisions Apply AI-enhanced UX techniques to improve personalization and user guidance Explore and apply gamification principles to enhance engagement in scientific UX Contribute to and maintain design systems and UI language consistency Mentor junior designers and promote UX best practices across teams Skills & Competencies Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, and PowerPoint for prototyping and demos Deep understanding of Qt vs JavaScript UI design trade-offs Strong grasp of UX principles for technical/scientific domains Interest in gamification and its application to scientific interfaces Strategic thinking and ability to balance user needs with business goals Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Experience with experimentation frameworks and data driven design is a pre Qualifications & Requirements Required: Bachelor''s degree in Design, HCI, or related field years of UX/UI design experience Portfolio showcasing complex design projects and strategic impact Desired: Experience designing for scientific or technical applications Familiarity with Qt or JavaScript frameworks Exposure to AI in UX or personalization techniques Interest or experience in gamification design UX certification or training in Design Thinking or Lean UX Travel Occasional travel may be required, depending on your location, primarily for team meetings.
