Overview Your Opportunity: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: Additional Required Qualifications Previous operating room experience including scrub and circulating functions in a Surgical Suite setting is required. Peri-operative course is required or a minimum of 2 years current experience in the scrub/circulatory role within a Surgical Suite. Current experience is defined as working in an OR setting within the past 2 years. The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful and/or emergency situations is essential. The incumbent must possess leadership and decision-making ability and be able to exercise sound judgement and use initiative. Good interpersonal and public relations skills as well as good communication skills, oral and written, are essential. Good organization and coordination skills required. The position is very physically demanding. Must be able to lift, pull, and push more than 25 lbs. There is a lot of above shoulder requirement for prepping and positioning of patients. Preferred Qualifications Recent peri-operative nursing experience with General Surgery. Orthopedics and OB/GYN is an asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
