Project Controller (Cost & Scheduling) Project Management Consulting Firm | Sherwood Park, AB Engagement: Full-Time Contract | 40 hrs/week About the Role IPECC Project Management is a growing project management consulting firm providing project controls, governance, and delivery oversight across construction and infrastructure programs in Alberta. We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Analyst to support schedule, cost, and margin performance across multiple client programs. This role is embedded in operations not a back-office function and works directly with Program Managers to ensure financial discipline, schedule integrity, and early identification of risk. This role does not manage construction execution. Instead, it focuses on controls, insight, and decision support in a consulting / owners representative environment. Project schedules are maintained in Microsoft Project, with Smartsheet used as our internal project controls and reporting platform. What Youll Do Review and validate project schedules in Microsoft Project Assess schedule updates, slippage, and forecast impacts Validate progress against approved baselines and milestones Integrate schedule and cost data into Smartsheet for reporting Track project financials including labor, subconsultants, and vendors Monitor AR/AP, cash flow, and revenue recognition for PM services Own project-level gross margin tracking and forecasting Identify cost, schedule, and margin risks early and communicate clearly Support SPI, CPI, EAC, and rolling forecasts Prepare clear, actionable reporting for Program Managers Act as a project controls partner to project and program leadership What Were Looking For 7+ years experience in project controls, cost control, or construction finance Experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects (consulting, owners rep, or PM firm preferred) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project Proven experience tracking project cost and gross margin Hands-on experience with AR/AP and project costing Comfortable supporting multiple projects or programs simultaneously Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders Advanced Excel skills; Smartsheet experience is a strong asset Why IPECC Full-time contract role with autonomy and trust Embedded in delivery real influence on outcomes Direct exposure to program-level decision making Microsoft Project + Smartsheet controls environment Opportunity to help shape and strengthen controls in a growing firm
