Assistant Program Director, Summer Boarding Programs 2026 Appleby CollegeAppleby Colleges Summer Boarding Program welcomes participants from around the world with diverse languages and backgrounds. Participants attend to enhance their English language skills and experience Canada.Program DetailsSeason: Summer June August 2026Compensation: $900 weeklyResponsibilitiesProgram Planning and DevelopmentAssist the Program Director in enhancing program quality through planning.Create activity resources aligned with program themes, weekly schedules, and evening activities.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and riskmanagement procedures.Support creation and facilitation of preseason and ongoing staff training sessions.Leadership and SupervisionServe as onsite lead in the absence of the Program Director, acting as primary contact for incidents.Support boarding staff in delivering program plans and facilitating participant activities.Promote a positive, encouraging, and respectful environment reflecting Applebys values.Communicate effectively regarding participant needs or behavioural concerns.Assist with program documentation, attendance, and activity records.Participate in required training, daily meetings, and postseason evaluations.Program Delivery and Participant ExperienceSupervise participants during activities, mealtimes, excursions, and campus events.Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of daily activities.Encourage participation to foster confidence and team spirit.Manage program equipment and ensure supplies are in good condition.Follow Appleby College policies, including the Mutual Respect Policy and healthsafety procedures.QualificationsLeadership experience in overnight camp or residential/recreational setting.Strong skills in working with children and youth ages1017.Experience teaching or leading a staff team in a camp or educational environment.Exceptional organizational and communication skills.Confidence and comfort leading games, group activities, and communitybuilding events.What We OfferRoom and board provided for the duration of the contract.Competitive compensation within the camp industry.Complimentary access to all excursions and special events.Employee discounts on summer camps for immediate dependents.A welcoming, inclusive work environment.Access to stateoftheart fitness facilities after work (spin, yoga, HIIT).Professional networking opportunities within the Appleby community.A beautiful work environment on the shore of Lake Ontario with worldclass facilities.Work SchedulePreSummer Training Days: June2,9,162026 8:00am to 4:00pmMoveIn, Training & Orientation: June22242026Program Sessions: June25August232026 (weekly evenings and weekends, five days per week; two consecutive midweek days off per week)Weekday OnDuty Hours: Morning7:30am9:30am, Off9:30am3:00pm; Afternoon3:30pmto11:00pm; weekend hours vary.How to ApplyApply online by January20th2026.
