Fundraising and Development Intern: Reporting to the Director, Development & Government Relations, you''ll be directly impacting our fundraising and development efforts. This isn''t just an internship; it''s your launchpad into the exciting world of fundraising, entrepreneurship, and social impact. You''ll get hands-on experience in every area of fundraising, from research to donor relations support, all while contributing to a mission-driven organization. This is role is part of VFC''s commitment to fostering work-integrated learning for Canadian students, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, interns will also receive 1x1 mentoring from our Director of People Operations and Finance, a curated set of learning materials, and participate in professional development groups to further advance skill development. These skill development sessions will focus on relationship building, time management, objective-based working styles, delegation, project planning and execution, working in small teams, and more This is a contract position and employment is contingent on funding approval. Please note, to be eligible for this position, you must: be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and, be 30 years of age or younger at the time of the internship. Role Responsibilities: CRM & Data Management Transfer and clean historical gift and donor data into our CRM Standardize donor records (naming conventions, addresses, contact info, giving history) Prospect Research Support Conduct basic online research to identify new potential funders (corporate, foundation, or individual prospects) Compile brief summaries or one-pagers on potential funders Update prospect profiles and track outreach status in the CRM Donor Stewardship & Communications Support donor thank-you mailings (letters, certificates, or e-blasts). Help prepare stewardship packages. Organize photos, quotes, and stories for donor reports or impact communications. Any other reasonable requests from VFC. Job Requirements: Strong attention to detail Excellent written communication for creating donor thank-you messages, reports, and updates Ability to summarize findings clearly and create concise, professional one-pagers Interest in fundraising, development, and donor relations Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, Zoom, and the Windows operating system are assets Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Salary: $770/Week Location: Virtual, home office must be within Ontario.
