Date Posted: Country: Canada Location: CA-ON-WATERLOO-440 ~ 440 Phillip St ~ PHILLIP, Unit D Position Role Type: Unspecified As part of the Operations team, the Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling large-scale products according to manufacturing orders and engineering drawings, performing functional testing, and preparing hardware for shipment. Individuals should be detail-oriented, capable of working effectively in a team setting, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace. This position requires a dedicated and skilled professional to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Utilize hand tools such as torque wrenches, nut drivers and allen wrenches for daily assembly tasks. Employ measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and standard rulers, to ensure products meet specifications. Follow and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings and operation sheets for standard work instructions in assembling products. Adjust equipment based on test results and a thorough understanding of processes and machinery. Adhere to PPE standards to prevent foreign objects and debris from contaminating products. Performs quality work checks, identifies product defects and records identified defects. Reworks and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes. Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Participate in team projects and other tasks as assigned by leadership. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical assembly. Basic knowledge of computer operations to access and navigate essential systems and software. Microsoft Dynamics experience would be considered an asset. Capable of writing correspondence as needed for documentation and communication purposes. Continuous Improvement process experience. Tool proficiency in the use of both hand and power tools to perform assembly tasks with precision and efficiency. Physical demands include: Lifting up to 25 lbs and prolonged periods of standing. Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers. Experience with pallet movers and material handling is an asset. Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints. This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
