We are a family in Whitby seeking a reliable, compassionate caregiver (PSW, RPN, DSW or candidates with experience/passion for supporting with children or individuals with complex physical needs, including G-tube feeding) to support our 14-year-old son, Zack. Zack is a happy, outgoing, and very social boy who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy after losing oxygen during birth. He is nonverbal, uses a wheelchair, and requires full assistance with all aspects of his daily care. Zack recently recovered from a long period of time with significant gastrointestinal challenges (which kept him home from school for several months) and is now doing well with a special diet and G-tube feeds using an Infinity pump. We are happy to provide full training on the feeding pump and any specific care routines. Outside of any physical discomforts he has due to his cerebral palsy and muscle spasms, Zack is a joy to work with! Our home is fully adapted and accessible (including a telecab elevator, lifts, hospital bed, ramp and accessible bathroom). Zack is small-framed and currently weighs around 50 pounds due to his cerebral palsy and gut issues. Position Details: Schedule: Weekday early mornings 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM (4 hours/day, MondayFriday). Zack''s school bus arrives around 7:30 AM. Primary Focus: Helping Zack get ready for school and preparing his needs for the day, plus some follow-up tasks after drop-off. Key Duties: Morning personal care (diaper changes, dressing, hygiene, AFOsincluding occasional shower assistance as needed) Packing and preparing his G-tube feeding pump, food and daily supplies needed for school Light cleaning of Zack''s items such as G tube accessories, wheelchair as needed Interacting and having fun with Zackhe loves social engagement, smiles, and connection! His laundry, setting out clothes/items for the next day Allowing time for his stomach to settle comfortably in the morning (he still has minor gut issues on waking in the mornings) Other Household Notes: We have a friendly 9-year-old Labradoodle (you must be comfortable around dogs), plus two other teenage boys (ages 19 and 13) in the home. This is a consistent, predictable shift ideal for someone looking for part-time morning work. We value building a long-term, trusting relationship with one or more caregivers to support Zack through the coming years. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, qualifications, and skills If you''re patient, kind, reliable, and enjoy bringing positivity to a child''s day, we''d love to hear from you! Please reply with a bit about your experience (especially with pediatric or complex care, G-tube/feeding pumps, transfers, or personal care if applicable or willing to learn), availability, and why this role interests you.
