Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to oversee fullcycle payroll, benefits, and pension administration. For our client in downtown Calgary, AB. In this role, youll ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery, maintain HRIS data integrity, and provide clear, supportive service to employees and stakeholders. Youll play a key part in compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of payroll and benefits processes. Location: Calgary, AB Schedule: Monday to Friday Job type: Temporary | Full-time Heres why you should apply: Paid weekly accurate and on time Strong health and safety programs Medical and dental benefits once qualified Free training programs New and quicker onboarding process Responsibilities: Accurate and Compliant Payroll Delivery: Ensures full-cycle payroll is processed accurately and on time, in compliance with legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies. Effective Benefits and Pension Administration: Delivers reliable administration of benefits and pension programs, supporting employee lifecycle events, retirements, and year-end reporting. Strong Employee Service Experience: Provides clear, timely, and respectful responses to employee, union, and departmental inquiries related to pay, benefits, and pensions. System and Data Integrity: Maintains accurate payroll and benefits data within the HRIS/payroll system and supports integrations with third-party providers. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensures adherence to payroll, tax, pension, and privacy legislation, supporting audits and addressing identified risks. Continuous Improvement: Identifies and contributes to process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and employee understanding of payroll and benefits services. Qualifications: National Payroll Institute (NPI) an/or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Minimum 5 years experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably with in-house payroll and basic accounting knowledge Experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting Collective Agreements is preferred Demonstrated understanding of payroll legislation, benefits & pension administration, and employment standards Excellent attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy across payroll, benefits, and pension processing Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic approach to employee inquiries Ability to clearly explain payroll, benefits, and pension practices, policies, and procedures to employees and stakeholders Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment Ability to adapt to changing practices, procedures, priorities, and system enhancements Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also working independently with minimal supervision Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Builds strong, trusting relationships through inclusive communication, mutual support, and respect for diverse perspectives, contributing to a positive and psychologically safe team environment.
