Herzing College is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) professional to join our faculty team as an Instructor in the Medical Office Assistant program. This position is well suited to an individual with strong industry experience who is committed to student success and to the delivery of high-quality, applied healthcare education.Position SummaryThe Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum aligned with current healthcare office practices, supporting student learning through effective instruction, assessment, and feedback, and contributing to a professional and supportive learning environment. Courses are delivered primarily through a combination of online synchronous and asynchronous instruction.Required Qualifications and ExperienceApplicants must demonstrate the following:A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience working in a medical office, clinic, or hospital environment.Demonstrated knowledge of medical office procedures, including patient scheduling, clinical documentation, healthcare billing, and records management.Practical experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, with experience in software such as Accuro.A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for both instructional delivery and student feedback.Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple instructional responsibilities and meet firm deadlines.Preferred AssetsPrevious teaching, training, or mentoring experience, particularly in adult or post-secondary education.Experience delivering instruction in an online or blended learning environment.Familiarity with a Learning Management System (Moodle preferred).Supervisory or management experience within a healthcare or office setting.Instructional ResponsibilitiesPrepare and deliver course content aligned with the Medical Office Assistant curriculum, including topics such as clinical procedures, medical terminology, healthcare software, billing, ethics, and office administration.Facilitate weekly live sessions, provide formative and summative feedback, and evaluate student work in accordance with course requirements.Support student engagement through discussion, applied activities, and one-on-one academic support as required.Maintain accurate academic records and comply with institutional policies and instructional standards.While we thank all applicants for their interest, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
