The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager of Ambulatory Care Services, with professional accountability to the Professional Practice Leader of Physiotherapy, the Licensed Physiotherapist is an integral member of the respirology clinic who works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, families, and patients to ensure the safe delivery of care and the application of physiotherapy techniques. The physiotherapist participates in the professional development of services through care team meetings, working groups, and subcommittees as appropriate. The Physiotherapist will also participate in the education of patients and families, Health Centre Staff, and affiliated students. As a member of the physiotherapy service, the Physiotherapist shares responsibility with all IWK PTs for caseload coverage throughout the Health Centre as required. Responsibilities Clinical assessment, intervention, evaluation, and monitoring. Perform ambulatory and clinical assessment of complex respiratory patients. Support the Respirologists and other Allied Health Professionals in the Respirology Clinic. Liaise with centerwide physiotherapy services for complex respiratory patients that require inpatient care. Provide patient, family, and team education support. Advance care by continually aligning and integrating evidencebased practices. Hours of Work Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per shift, weekend standby, and callback coverage on a rotational basis. Your Qualifications Graduate of a Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) approved physiotherapy program. Licensed or eligible to be licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists. Registered, or eligible for membership, in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Minimum two (2) years of pediatric rehabilitation clinical experience in ambulatory and inpatient settings preferred. Demonstrated clinical knowledge in Respirology and cystic fibrosis care. Clinical experience in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy practice preferred. Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication (verbal & written) skills.
