This impact takes place across our 7 health and wellness facilities, 6 childcare centres, 2 outdoor camps and 12+ community programs, empowering people of all ages and life stages to belong, grow, thrive and lead.Sport and Day Camp Supervisor (Full Time 14month contract)Melcor YMCA at CrowfootStart Date: February 9th, 2026End Date: April 2027Salary: $48,786.00/year $60,982.00/yearBenefitsComplimentary YMCA Calgary membership including a linked membership for dependent childrenComprehensive health and dental benefits (premiums paid in full by the Association)Anniversary flex day and gifts given to celebrate each year of employmentProgram discountsOngoing leadership development and opportunitiesLeadership award opportunitiesScholarship opportunitiesPaid recertification and trainingWhat qualifications are we looking for?Bachelor of Education, Physical Education or related degree or diploma is an assetMinimum of two years experience working with youthAssociate of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) or Challenges Unlimited (CUI) Level 1Experience working with the Canadian Sport for Life Model including Physical LiteracyExperience with day camps, supervising staff, and program developmentMinimum two years experience in coaching and sport program delivery, and oneyear supervisory experienceExcellent customer service attitudeAvailability in the evenings and weekends to meet community and branch needsNational Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Fundamentals is an asset (basket, soccer or badminton)Current Standard First Aid with CPRC certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider (asset if issued by Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St Johns Ambulance or Canadian Ski Patrol)Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector SearchThree professional referencesWhat does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?Lead the team of staff working for Sports and Day Camps including hiring, training, performance management and active coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers, including providing feedback on a regular basisEnsure high quality of programs and execution of the program design by personal, direct delivery of programs (Basketball, multisport, Badminton, Soccer)Build relationships with parents, participants, volunteers and staffMaintain a high degree of organizational and administrative skill to ensure Association procedures are adhered to as set by YMCA CalgaryVolunteer recruitment (fairs, interview, train and performance manage)Adhere to policies & procedures that support high standards for Health & Safety and Child Safety & ProtectionProvide leadership for summer and seasonal Day Camps including Summer, Winter Break, Teachers Convention and Spring BreakPlay an active role by attending regularly scheduled meetings and inservicesDevelop, control and evaluate the Sport budget for your branch, related statistics, and purchase equipment as requiredEnsure all administration systems are in place and are adhered to as set by YMCA CalgaryCollaborate with the Bookings Team to plan, organise and facilitate group bookings including school groups and birthday partiesTake initiative to support programme cycles for Sport & Day Camps including registration, programme cancellations and waitlist managementProvide branch support assuming weekly Duty Manager shifts and engage Healthy Safety Training and Duty Manager inservices.
