Job Overview We are hiring a Youth Care Specialist to support youth in a Community Group Home at Closer to Home Community Services (CTH). Utilizing the Teaching Family Model, the Youth Care Specialist facilitates success for youth with complex mental health and behavior needs. Responsibilities Support youth in daily routines, school, appointments and family visits. Implement a therapeutic treatment approach. Maintain a structured environment to foster skill development. Manage crises and ensure high levels of supervision for safety. Assist youth with scheduled activities and provide relief coverage to other homes as needed. Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans. Conduct assessments and collect client information for documentation and critical incident reports. Participate in individual supervision, team meetings and ongoing training. Provide transportation for household errands and youth relocation as required. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with complex needs and multiple diagnoses. Open availability for day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts. Responsible, diligent, detailoriented and a positive role model. Compassionate, strengthbased and empathetic approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Diploma or degree in a related field; residential and community group care experience preferred. Class5 Alberta drivers licence, personal vehicle, clean 3year abstract; liability insurance on personal vehicle. Completed Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search before employment. Capacity to manage crises in a therapeutic manner. Willingness to work with service animals and/or pets.
