This is a unique opportunity to take on a key leadership role with a respected seafood company, while enjoying working in a tight-knit coastal community just minutes from the city.Role DescriptionAs Plant Manager, you will take on a leadership role overseeing all aspects of Sambro Fisheries processing operations. This position combines hands-on support with strategic oversight, giving you the opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be a key player in keeping daily operations running smoothly while planning for long-term success.Your responsibilities will include:Oversee plant performance, ensuring production and quality standards are consistently metAnticipate and troubleshoot issues that could impact productionLead, motivate, and hold your team accountable to high standards of performanceBuild positive, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organizationMaintain and enforce strict quality and food safety standardsAddress and resolve quality complaints quickly and effectivelyKeep accurate, timely production and operational recordsDevelop preventative maintenance schedules and recommend equipment upgrades when neededFoster a strong health and safety culture through compliance and proactive practicesChampion continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costsPartner with leadership and HR to address employee issues and support team well-beingManage plant expenses, balancing productivity with cost controlEnsure plant cleanliness, tidiness, and overall workplace safetyYour QualificationsAs an experienced operations leader, you bring a proven ability to manage people, processes, and performance in a fast-paced production environment. You understand how to balance day-to-day plant demands with long-term priorities, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency remain at the forefront. With strong communication and leadership skills, you know how to motivate teams, solve problems, and drive results.Proven experience managing operations in a manufacturing or processing environment; experience in seafood or food processing is a strong assetProgressive supervisory or management experienceDemonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable for resultsAn understanding of production workflows, quality assurance, and health and safety practicesExcellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partnersAdaptability to changing operational demands, with a hands-on approach when needed to support plant performanceAs a key player in driving the company's success, your contributions will have a lasting impact on operations and future growth.
