Position Summary Your goal in this position is to provide excellent patient and familydriven care, in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. Committed embrace continuous professional development. Responsibilities Demonstrate full scope of nursing/Application practice per the College of Nurses of Ontario. Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients, families and team members. Think critically, set priorities and organize work in response to client/patient needs. Demonstrate knowledge of transfers and lifts. Commit to ongoing learning, professional development and continuous quality improvement. Use computers, MS Word, internet searches, data entry and patient information systems. Assume a lead/charge role and pursue continuing education in patient assessment and education. Exhibit excellent assessment skills and clinical knowledge. Employ organizational, problemsolving, prioritization, timemanagement and teaching skills. Maintain strong interpersonal skills and foster good public relations in a familycentered environment. Respond appropriately in emergency situations. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing. Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Previous neu aviso/stroke and medical experience preferred. At least 2 years of recent medical/surgical or clinical nursing experience with older adults, dementia or cognitively impaired populations preferred. Bilingualism in French/English an asset. What We Offer Parttime temporary (12month contract) RN on 8 and 12hour shifts, days, nights and strconv weekends in the Neuro/Stroke Medicine Unit.
