Vacancy: Regular Full-Time Transportation Engineer Job ID: J1225-030/max>0 Department: Economic & Development Services Branch: Engineering Services Location: City Hall Posting Start Date: 2026/01/06 Posting End Date: 2026/01/25 by 4:30p.m. Group: Exempt Salary Grade: P $107,588 $126,575 per annum Standard Weekly Hours of Work: 36.25 Shift Work Required: No Reporting to the Senior Transportation Engineer, or designate, the Transportation Engineer will lead and manage longrange, master, and multimodal transportation planning, as well as Environmental Assessment projects, to support the expansion and improvement of the Citys transportation system while promoting a cultural shift towards multimodal transportation. Responsibilities: Provide project management services for transportation related initiatives such as longrange, master planning studies, Environmental Assessments, Transportation Master Plans, and Active Transportation Master Plans Manage project administration activities, including cost control, schedule control, and change orders Monitor project schedules and deliverables to ensure timely completion Lead team resources, priorities and performance related to project work in accordance with City standards, codes and regulations Participate in all planning studies including but not limited to: Regional studies, Official Plan Review component studies dealing with transportation, infrastructure, and growth management to ensure transportation planning and engineering interests are appropriately addressed Review transportation studies submitted in support of development applications to recommend appropriate transportation related modifications and mitigation measures, as required Review, respond to, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on transportation initiatives to ensure-labelledby and transportation planning and engineering interests are appropriately considered Manage, lead, and coordinate transportation related longrange and master planning projects (Environmental Assessments, Transportation Master Plans, Active Transportation Master Plan, etc.) and transportation studies related to development applications Represent the City on internal and external committees to ensure that City interests are protected Respond to inquiries from Committees, Council. stakeholders and the public to ensure they are well informed Support management of the divisions operating budget, contribute to the Citys capital budget process, and the development of the Citys longterm planning and asset management processes Perform other duties as assigned Support and demonstrate the City of Oshawas core values of Authenticity, Courage, and Trust What the City Offers: Competitive salary Comprehensive benefits package Pension (OMERS) Professional development opportunities and/or education reimbursement Paid professional association membership for certification maintenance Free onsite parking Hybrid work Employee perks and wellness programming Please be advised that position location as noted is at the time of posting and is subject to change, as required due to operational needs. would like to thank all applicants however, please note that only those selected to attend an interview will be contacted and all other applicants will be kept on file.
