THE ROLE Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months evaluating and managing the operations and delivery of morale and welfare programs to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a deployed Manager, Morale and Welfare Operations, you are enhancing the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed. The Manager, Morale and Welfare Operations is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based, land based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player in a fastpaced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an everchanging dynamic environment. You will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate, and manage a variety of business lines, such as retail, fitness, recreation, sports, travel, and barbering. You will utilize previous managerial experience, coupled with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to provide the highest level of service to Canadian and/or partner nation clientele. In addition, you will assist with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy, balanced lives. Qualifications Needed Education, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Sports Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field Canadian citizenship Must have a valid Canadian passport Valid Canadian drivers license (Class G or Class 5) Experience In planning, coordinating and managing multibusiness operations In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation In preparing and administering tournaments, sporting and recreation events In officiating sporting events and/or athletic competitions In managing facilities In budget administration In personnel administration In planning, coordinating and evaluating the operations of establishments engaged in retail sales In loss prevention In planning, coordinating, managing and evaluating the operations and delivery of travel programs Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership. Additional Qualifications Prior To Deployment Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment Security screening Current CPR And Basic First Aid Qualifications Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull/or push heavy items. Language Requirements English Essential. JOB INFORMATION POSITION TYPE Civilian deployment contracts are 6month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years. Hours of work Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends. Benefits Tax free allowance: Possibility of up to $1,756 per month in addition to your salary (allowance rates are based on mission/location/date). Home leave and travel allowance: Possibility of paid leave and travel allowance. Accommodations and meals: Provided for duration of deployment. Purpose: You will learn more indepth about the daytoday expectations, technical workrelated training, as well as a basic understanding of military practices and procedures. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about our organization as well as interact with likeminded people that may be deploying with you.
