What Well Accomplish Together In the role of Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) at this remote mining site in Northern Canada, you will work within the Occupational Health Clinic to provide care to a diverse worker population, within a team that is passionate about wellbeing and safety. What Youll Do Provide urgent and emergency care to all patients seeking care in the clinic, within the scope of the medical directives, under remote direction of the Medical Director as applicable Provide occupational health services, to include spirometry, audiometry, ECG, vision testing, respiratory mask fit testing, custom ear plug fitting and more as part of the medical surveillance program Record all patient encounters and document appropriately using the electronic medical record (EMR) Communicate with onsite and offsite personnel to ensure appropriate patient care and safe return to work for medical absences, STD and LTD Report workplace injuries according to the clients internal policies, and to the appropriate territorial/provincial bodies as required Participate in the development and delivery of health educations and wellness campaigns Collaborate with client management and the broader TELUS team to drive improvements towards best practice and better health outcomes Management of medical supplies and clinic supplies What You Bring For Physician Assistant: Graduate of PACCC approved PA program, or ARCPA approved program Currently registered and in good standing with CAPA Professional liability insurance For Nurse Practitioner: Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner Licensed as an NP in NWT, or eligible for registration Current ACLS and BLS Current ATLS, ITLS Advanced or TNCC Minimum 3 years of field or occupational health experience, industrial or remote worksite experience preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook Recent experience seeing undifferentiated patients in either primary, urgent or emergency care settings Experience in management of emergency medical conditions, e.g. trauma, cardiac events, etc. Training/certification in Drug and Alcohol collection (urine, oral fluid, and breath alcohol) preferred Experience with Occupational Health activities preferred, including: Preemployment and periodic medicals Fitness for work assessment Occupational injury reporting and classification Experience organizing/coordinating medical evacuations Experience in use of EMR an asset Training in use of ultrasound an asset Experience/certification in Audiometric and spirometry testing Who is TELUS Health?
