The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Manager, Recreation Bookings and Programs. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs and Services, this position will be responsible for the management, direction, and planning of City of St. Albert Recreation Programs Branch, including aquatic, recreation, fitness programming and facility bookings in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Responsibilities Accountable for the success and long-term viability of City directly delivered recreation and fitness programs to the community in St. Albert recreation facilities and parks. Ensure that Aquatics programming is responsive to community needs while maximizing the use of available amenities in alignment with facility schedules and service standards. Oversee recreation facility booking and allocation services by ensuring processes, procedures, and operational protocols are in place to maintain services levels to the community. Manage a branch of the department comprised of three direct reports and a team of permanent, term, and casual staff. Leads the development of strategic and business plans for the branch, ensuring alignment with corporate documents and directives. Develop, recommend, and manage the annual budgets for recreation, fitness, aquatics programming, and facility rentals. Qualifications Bachelors degree in recreation, physical education or a related field combined with 5 years of related experience. Requires strong knowledge of recreation programs and services, with the ability to interpret, develop, and recommend operational and business practices aligned with organizational goals. Extensive budget development and analysis experience is required. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Hours of Work We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO). Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Compensation The salary ranges from $112,689 - $135,890 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package with a Flexible Spending Account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 4 weeks per year. Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.
