Position Overview The Carpenter will be responsible for working in many different commercial and residential settings, depending on project requirements. Responsibilities may include drawing up plans, taking measurements and conducting site visits. Some primary duties could also include: Installing joists, partitions, rafters, foundations, subflooring, walls, framing, stairs, cabinets, drywall, insulation, fittings and fixtures. Finish carpentry including doors and trim. Liaising with Project Manager to discuss project details and timelines. Preparing layouts in conformance to building codes, reading blueprints and designs prepared by others like architects and construction professionals and ensuring they meet building code requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform demolition. Ensure on-site compliance with Health and Safety issues, practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe worksite Track all equipment removed from the warehouse. Ability to haul a trailer would be an asset. Assist Project Manager''s as required. Assist with apprentice training and development. Identify and communicate opportunities for improved service and efficiency. Perform job functions in as efficient a manner as possible. Ensure any assigned vehicle is kept in a safe and presentable condition and is kept appropriately stocked at all times. Other duties as assigned The position is critical for providing superior knowledge, professionalism and customer service to meet or exceed client expectations. Profitability of individual projects is a direct accountability for this role and is a major factor in the overall success of the operation. Experience/Skills/Attributes Required 5+ years industry related experience Valid Class G2 or higher driver''s license required. Working at heights Knowledge of construction processes and procedures.
