Major Responsibilities Preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information Obtaining quotes and providing approved purchase orders to suppliers Analyzing and understanding customer requirements for a given project Preparing estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products Working with the sales team to prepare proposals Additional Responsibilities Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Any additional tasks or duties assigned by Supervisor or Management team Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent time management skills with an outstanding ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment Ability to read and understand architectural drawings Very detail oriented Ability to exercise analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Demonstrates a positive attitude and can work well in a team setting Willing to comply with any additional training required by Bolton Railings Inc. Requirements Completion of post-secondary education in Construction Estimating Program Experience with Planswift software will be an asset Previous 1-2 years experience in estimating products in construction and/or manufacturing industries from plans and drawings is preferred Experience in reading architectural drawings required Familiarity with estimating software preferred Microsoft Office Skills required Additional information Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. Compensation The expected compensation range for this position is $22-$25 per hour , commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.
