We are currently looking to fill the position of Construction Manager to work within our Stonerise Construction office in Waterloo, ON. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Auburn Group, the Construction Manager will be accountable for driving the strategic vision and direction of team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of a 15+ year pipeline of new High-Rise Residential Development Projects throughout South-Western Ontario. As the Construction Manager you will: Provide daily Leadership and oversight to achieve high performance results for the entire construction team that exceed industry standards. Assist with the development of and drive the execution regarding business plans for near-term and longer-range planning. Implement a business unit culture of continuous improvement built upon frequent review of best practices and lessons-learned from both the Field Operations and Project Management teams. Build a bench of sustainable talent within the construction team: Continuously evaluate talent; assess capabilities, strategies, and position expectations; refine position descriptions as necessary; create position-specific benchmarks to evaluate performance based on qualitative and quantitative expectations of the company; maintain up-to-date training and development plans for all team members. Implement and maintain industry-standard means and methods for all office and field processes with modifications to achieve top-of-market results for budgets, procurement, schedule, and quality. Develop and implement risk-management practices to meet or exceed industry standards. Explore and vet new products before implementation into new projects. Daily management for all self-perform construction operations for all projects from inception to completion including: Design assist, design-build oversight, constructability and coordination reviews budgets, cash flow projections Staffing recruitment, assignments, training Schedules Procurement process and inventory management Contract negotiations Contract administration Safety plan and full implementation Project management including submittals and RFI process Field operations, including equipment / crane management Quality control Phased occupancy plans Monthly budget and schedule status reports Project close-out Manage compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements Procure and manage all required permits Manage relationships with all AHJ, city inspectors, area Construction Community/Association(s) Determine and implement benchmarks to measure and improve key metrics related to budget, schedule, quality, and risk. WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED Construction-related degree or diploma and 8 to 15 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on large projects. Currently working as a High-Rise Construction Manager or Senior Project Manager. At least two full high-rise projects completed as the Project Manager with hands-on involvement in all key phases: planning, budgets, schedules, design completion, monthly payments, phased occupancy, and project close out.
