Job Description

The Elevator Operator, under the direction of the Elevator Supervisor, performs grain handling and processing duties to standard process requirements and operational instructions related to grain handling activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Monitor and analyze daily production indicators with a view to increased efficiency. Analyze samples for proper equipment operation and repair or report necessary repairs to your supervisor. Complete Preventative maintenance on equipment associated with the job. Report all equipment malfunctions and problems to your supervisor. Main clean barley to ''day'' bins for processing. Start and monitor malt cleaning/deculmming and blending operations to storage silo''s. Unload barley cars and trucks through scalping operations to storage. Shoveling and sweeping of grain. Washing down equipment and grounds with a high pressure washer. Emptying Garbage cans and dumpsters. Measure malt, barley and byproduct bins for feet empty. Collect samples of barley and malt from cleaning and grading machines. Analyze unload and shipment samples for compliance to company standards and report any problem areas to your supervisor. Run and monitor shipping blends for customer requirements. Sanitation of facilities and items as required. Maintain high level of competency with production transactions in SAP. Job Requirements: High School Diploma/Relevant secondary education 2+ years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment; food production industry a plus Experience with running equipment, with the ability to perform basic preventative maintenance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and to withstand prolonged periods of standing/walking and occasional bending during a 8-10 hour shift period Flexibility to work rotating 8-10 hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime Excellent Mechanical Aptitude Technical and Problem Solving Skills Protective Clothing Required: The employee must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and a hard hat and a full face respirator when working in manufacturing areas.
