Job Status: Part Time/On Call Location: All Stations Wage Rate: $26.71 Vacancy:Up to 16 vacancies Posting Date: January 26, 2026 Posting Closes:March 27, 2026 at 12:00pm The Municipality of Lambton Shores has a dedicated crew of part time/on call firefighters that are committed to providing fire protection, prevention, and public education services to the community. Firefighters play an important role in keeping the community safe from fire and other hazards. Part-Time/On-CallFirefighters are responsible for a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to: Responding to fire and rescue emergencies Performing manual work of a hazardous nature involving fighting fires, salvaging, and rescue work and administering first aid under direct supervision Participating in continuous training Conducting regular maintenance work of the fire station, apparatus, and equipment Participating in public education and awareness initiatives within the community Meeting training and attendance requirements. Obtaining certifications as legislatively required. To become a Part-Time/On-Call Firefighter with the Municipality of Lambton Shores, you must meet several minimum qualifications: Live and/or work within the volunteer response area that you are applying to. Preference is given to those residing within 8km of a fire station Be able to communicate in English, both speaking and writing Be able to conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of stations and all types of apparatus and equipment used Hold a valid Ontario class G driver''s license with the ability to obtain an Ontario class DZ driver''s license during the probationary period Be able to work in a highly structured work environment and follow the rules and procedures of the fire service Successfully received Ontario Secondary School Diploma or approved equivalent Have the ability to make decisions and react calmly and quickly in emergency situations Maintain the physical strength and agility to perform hard work and operate all firefighting/rescue apparatus and equipment Hold current Basic First Aid and CPR certification Information Sessions: Are you considering applying for the Part Time/On Call Firefighter position? Note: Successful candidates will be required to attend mandatory and ongoing training. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Certification and other registered training will commence at a date to be determined.
