JOB DETAILS Status: Casual Schedule: Flexible between Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Location: The Newly Institute Fredericton Clinic (#6, 5 Acorn Street, Fredericton, NB) ABOUT US The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry, our community, and with our clients. We have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multi-disciplinary clinical team on a casual basis. WHAT YOU WILL DO Reporting to the Managers of Clinical Services, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a regulated member of The Newly Institute team, responsible for supporting comprehensive client-centered care, trauma therapy, and addictions support for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions. This role is a key part of our dynamic clinical team and reflects our core values of communication, community, excellence, health, and innovation. Comprehensive Client-Centered care Effective assessment of client status. Monitor and support clients during psychopharmacological treatment. Support clients in crisis or dysregulation, such as managing panic attacks, or providing de-escalation. Facilitate psychoeducation groups (such as Psychoeducation, Mindfulness, Family Support). Assist in grounding and reflection post psychopharmacological treatment. Client Support Complete client intakes and case management support. Support clients receiving mental health treatment, substance use treatment, and support relapse prevention Team Collaboration Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload. Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about issues related to client care. Attend all clinical meetings, including but not limited to WorkSafe and other programs. Engagement in professional consults and supervision. Administration Ensure same-day completion of session notes. Complete assessment, and discharge reports in a timely manner. Provide reporting to third-parties and community referral sources. Respond to enquires and provide program information to clients. Ensure adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, and other general stocking duties. Maintain, and upkeep medical equipment, including the corresponding documentation. Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned. WHAT YOU BRING Education BLS and or willingness to obtain is required. ACLS training is an asset. Experience A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in mental health. Experience mental health group facilitation an asset. Equivalencies of education may be considered. Professional Registration, Practice Permits, Certificates, and Designations Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN) registration and membership in good standing are required. Professional liability insurance is required. Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.
