Controller Employment Type Permanent Location Oro-Medonte, Ontario Apply SHARE THIS JOB Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Controller who ideally has manufacturing experience to join our client''s team in Oro-Medonte. The ideal candidate will possess strong CPA qualifications and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with a hands-on approach. As a Controller, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This is an in office role. Key Responsibilities of the Controller include but not limited to: Financial Leadership & Strategy Act as a strategic finance partner to the Leadership Team, contributing to business planning, growth initiatives, and decision-making Provide financial insights, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support scaling operations in Canada and the U.S. Support long-term planning, capital allocation, and expansion strategies Accounting & Financial Operations Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including AR, AP, inventory, payroll, month-end close, and year-end processes Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and advisors Own cash management processes including daily cash positioning, short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and covenant compliance Monitor customer credit risk, establish and enforce credit policies, and oversee AR collections and credit limits Systems & Process Improvement Lead or support ERP system implementation and optimization Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reporting using Power BI Continuously improve financial processes, controls, and internal reporting Ensure data integrity and scalable financial systems suitable for high growth Leadership & People Management Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of two Finance Associates using strong LMA (Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable) practices Coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering growth and accountability Build a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance team Provide functional oversight and coordination for outsourced HR and IT service providers, ensuring service levels, cost effectiveness, and alignment with company priorities Collaborate with leadership on HR-related processes including payroll oversight, benefits administration, and people data reporting EOS Accountability Operate within an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) environment Own and manage finance-related Rocks, Scorecard metrics, and quarterly priorities Support leadership meetings with clear financial reporting and insights TMGMS Job Requirements: Required CPA designation (CPA, CA / CMA / CGA) 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting skills Hands-on experience with ERP system implementation Advanced experience with Power BI and financial analytics Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and hold team members accountable Experience working in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial business Preferred Experience supporting both Canadian and U.S. operations Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or product-based businesses Exposure to inventory management and cost accounting Experience in a privately held family run business Prior experience operating within an EOS environment Key Competencies Strategic and analytical thinker Strong leadership presence with a hands-on approach High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization Values-driven leader aligned with company''s culture and principles Additional Information: The Mason Group is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible recruitment process.
