Job Description Summary Reporting to the Senior Markham Plant Leader, this individual will be responsible for providing direct people leadership to a team of resources to deliver inbound and outbound warehouse and logistics priorities. Essential Responsibilities Ensure a safe work environment in the warehouse/shipping/receiving areas for all employees and drive a zerotolerance environment for safety infractions Lead the team responsible for daily warehouse operations including storage, picking, kitting, packing to ensure ontime delivery of products through to end customers Overcome roadblocks to ensure delivery is made in line with internal and external customer requirements and ensure quality and timeliness Develop operational plan for the own department and teams Serve as an expert resource in areas of logistics management, freight and regulatory compliance Review costs related to inbound/outbound freight versus accrual/estimate and lead corrective actions for discrepancies and provide strategic leadership for the loading of inbound/outbound freight to improve costs Responsible for scheduling, workload planning, and equipment required for the receipt, sorting, warehousing and inventory control of all warehoused items Manage warehousing costs and 3PLs (Third Party Logistics), identify specific cost reduction opportunities and take action to achieve cost reductions Identify areas for improvement, initiate/lead projects to reduce transportation and operational cost Lead warehousing activities with production, EHS, marketing and technology including material receipt, storage and delivery Work with material planners as liaison to coordinate inbound freight shipments with suppliers/freight forwarders Assure all freightrelated system (MRP) transactions occur in a timely basis Implement/manage inventory levels for expense items not driven by MRP Knowledge and understanding of International Trade Controls and Customs Compliance, identify, report and resolve any trade compliance issues while adhering to GE Grid Solutions ITC COE requirements Develop relationships with partners (carriers, suppliers, etc.) as identified by the business Provide subject matter expertise to customers and internal partners related to logistics, international trade and customs Maintain and drive FIFO and 5S in the warehouse to be best in class Follow Quality Management System policies, procedures and work instructions Maintain daily, monthly and quarterly metrics as prescribed Other duties as necessary through the evolution of the role & related processes Required Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience 5+ years of supply chain experience Minimum of 2 additional years of experience in Warehouse and Logistics/Inventory management and SAP experience Proven change management experience Experience setting goals and tracking performance to those goals Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required to support multiple time zones For candidates applying to a Canadianbased position, the pay range for this position is between $89,400.00 - 134,000.00 Annual CAD.
